1st Battalion Queen's Own Highlanders (Seaforth and Camerons) 1981/82 - Yung Shue Au Tsuen - Starling Inlet

Another military relic in one of the most remote parts of Hong Kong, the abandoned forward military base at Yung Shue Au Tsuen on Starling Inlet. The Regimental badge of QO HLDRS painted on a rockface facing north. It's at least 6 ft. tall, with a map of Scotland and a Saltire to the right of the crest. They were in Hong Kong in 1981/82. I remember them well!

Regimental Crest

I served with the Regement and still have fantastic memories. I have been trying to find a family I became close to when I was there. Alison Ayres her sister Barbra and their parents. They lived in kings park but spent a lot of time at Lo Wu saddle club, Mr Ayres worked at Ki Tak. I would be interested to hear if you know any of them regards John Butler.
