I can't see any clear sign of where this was taken, but I'm guessing it could be Queen's Rd Central, the slope below Battery Path. The portal opposite HSBC connected to the network in that hillside, and there should have been more portals further west.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

looking at a close up of the tunnel signs it appears to read Tunnel No. 2, if that's any help to anyone.

which according to moddsey is portal 52.

That suggests no 2 should be nearby but who knows!

gotta say though it does look like where you've said Mr B: that wall looks like the one that runs below battery path. perhaps around where the walkway from standard chartered has been built into the wall? it might explain why there's no real trace now
