This food kitchen was located on Hennessy Rd, Wanchai and was one of four kitchens that provided a single meal each day to the needy. Nine hundred people would be served in this one kitchen alone. On production of food stamps, the hungry would receive a bowl of thick congee consisting of ordinary and red rice, soya beans, meat. liver, potatoes and vegetables. where along Hennessy Rd this was located?

I have a faint impression that a contributor on Flickr commented that the site is now the Hennessy Road Government Primary School.

Looking on map 3-5b in Mapping HK, dated 1939-46, there's an empty plot of land where the school is today, marked 'Reserved for market'.

Created a place for the food kitchen here
