I have a faint recollection that the building where the photo was taken from was called the Lyeemoon Building and the building across the road was called the Empress Lodge.

  I'm pretty sure this photo was taken from the building next to the Harbour View Hotel. As seen in one of the photos, it has Bay (Oriole) windows and I'm sure it became the Arlington Hotel in the early fifties.

If you also look at these comments, any chance you can remember if the building that housed the Arlington Hotel was also called the Lyemoon Building?
