I am sure I have seen a story for this gun barrel before, but my rusty memory is lacking the detail.

Was this item a spare gun barrel for those at Mount Davis? Such a powerful piece would not be much use at low levels.

The range of this gun is around 29,600 yards which is the distance from HKU to the Shenzhen River. I have my doubts that it would be that effective because of island shading to the west of HK and fogs at certain times of year.

Somewhere I have a book about the Hong Kong and Singapore Artillery and will try to dig out more information.
