Shatin Airstrip
Was temporarily billetted there in 1954 towards the end of National Service with the Royal Signals. It was a large, cream coloured detached house about 0.5 km from the airstrip set back on the r/h side along the road towards Tai Po. Went up as a guest passenger but was violently airsick soon after take-off and couldn't wait to get back down.
Put me off light 'planes for life
