This is a mounted and signed studio portrait dated 1951 of Neva Green, daughter of the former Superintendent of Forestry in Hong Kong, Harold Green. The handwritten legend reads "Neva Green. Born Hong Kong. Father head of the Forestry Dept. Lived next to Government House." By the time this second photo was sent to her, Cicely Warren would have been a widow for nine years and emigrated from England to Canada with her two children. Having formed a friendship in Hong Kong, the two women obviously continued to correspond long after leaving in 1937 and 1938 respectively, and long after the war.
