About two thirds up the photo there is a large "God Save The King" sign on the road crossing the tram tracks.
Re: "God Save The King" Signage on May Road
I had read about the captioned lettering before. The framework in electrical lights on May Road was put up for the illumination display on 23 June 1911 for the coronation of George V. The previous day the signage of "The King" had fallen down onto the tram tracks due to strong winds!
