this kwun yam statue has quite a history. I believe it was originally at Lee Gardens in Causeway bay before being moved here.

I always thought that such statues were associated with temples. Was there one at Lee Gardens?

It seems that the original statue was a film prop. I do remember going to visit the temple about 10 or so years ago when they were sculpting the new statue and, I must admit, I don't believe it was the old statue being reshaped.
