Brian and Alan on their way to a swim in Big Wave Bay.  It was hot work going up that road and even worse on the very rough path over the flank of Pottinger Peak on what has been dramatically up-graded as the Pottinger Peak trail.  A swim at Big Wave Bay was very welcome and then we had a slog back over to the camp.  Thank goodness for the showers complete with concrete seats where we could cool off.  You could even sit there and read with your book held out at arm's length beyond the spray.  What luxury!

That day a squadron of Royal Navy ships was drawn up in Junk Bay.  I think that they had arrived from Singapore for some special occasion
