This photrograph was taken form a pedestrian walkway that crossed Connaught Road. I believe that it and the longer one is still there. The central reservation is where the 1958 waterfront was. Just visible behind the walkway on the right is an area of still undeveloped land that was used as a bus terminus (perhaps now where the covered bus station is). In the evenings a night market sprang up there.
