Hi Freddie,

I think the right Place for these photos is Lye Mun Reverse Battery, Lye Yue Mun ? That's what I understand from GW's notes about this area: http://gwulo.com/node/18374

Thanks for posting the photos from your outing, and good to see another Japanese tunnel found.

Regards, David

Hi David,

From what I learn from the Late Dr. Solomon Matthew Bard's recently published book "Notes on the History of Hong Kong Coastal Defences during the British Administration, with Special Reference to Lei Yue Mun", the Reverse Battery is located inside the Pak Sha Wan Battery.  The book also illustrates the four chambers of the Battery, i.e. shelter, side arm store, shell store, and cartridge store.  The QF gun bunker has only one chamber and is too close to the shore.

Regards,
Fred

That's interesting, I wonder what records Dr. Bard found that link these two batteries together? Rob's notes have these two batteries as quite separate - built at different locations and in different years, and the "Guns & Gunners" book has a similar account.
