Thanks for the view from a different direction. I'd originally guessed this was somehere like To Kwa Wan, so I was way off.
The row of white blocks is visible in both photos. I think that's Chungking Mansions. To their right is a squareish building that is just a storey or two shorter. That's Mirador Mansion, between Mody and Carnarvon Roads.
I think the photographer was up on a rooftop along Kimberley Road or nearby.
