This ropeway was originally designed by a missionary in the Bethanie Sanatorium (still there) and then used by the dairy farm in Pokfulam, to convey fodder from the small pier located at the southern end of Telegraph Bay (now Cyberport) up to the Dairy Farm head office on the Pokfulam Road, located (still) opposite the shanty town. The elevation was around 800 feet. It was also used by Bethanie to convey bibles and other items from their printing presses in Douglas Castle and Bethanie. The picture was extracted from one of the 1960s DF annual reports.

Great to see a photo of this at last. We've got a few notes about it from previous conversations at http://gwulo.com/node/9502
