Hi There,
It is likely Johnston Road at the corner of Luard Road. Photographer was sitting on the upper deck of a tram looking back west.

Yes, it is the junction of Johnston and Luard Roads The building on the extreme left still stands today as the "The Pawn", an upmarket restaurant. When the photo was taken, the Woo Cheong Pawn Shop is out of sight but the shop next to it housed a Beauty Parlour which can be seen. The view from the opposite direction from 1941 can be seen here
