Astor Hotel?
That looks like the Astor Hotel on the left. Then that would put the photographer on Carnarvon Road, with the start of Bristol Avenue on the right of the photo.

Yes, that is the Astor Hotel from the junction with Carnarvon Road.
Canarvon Road
Hi David and Moddsey,
you're right. The photo was taken from Canarvon (and not Mody) Road. It's not only the Astor Hotel that shows it, but also the location of the Walltzing Matilda Inn on the right hand side. I'll correct this one as well as the one referenced.
