Taken from the hillside to the West of the camp, we can see that the bay has yet to be infilled for the new sports field.  The small jetty is to where airmen arriving at Kai Tak from the UK would be brought by R.A.F. launch.  At the bottom right the hillside is being excavated to make way for the sports field and the Station Headquarters and parade ground are not yet built.  The pimple at the highest part of th ridge is intriguing.  It appears to be man made and is on all photographs of this view. Is it a large 'cairn' built with boulders by bored servicemen working at the pre-war radio station or Lyon Light building that can be seen  down the ridge towards the sea.  Several Gwulo followers have visited the latter and taken good photographs. Would anyone like to go up to the 'cairn'and find out what it actually is? Please do and satisfy my curiosity!
