Re: Queen's Road East Wanchai Market
Hi There,
I wonder if this was the Hennessy Road Wet Market. Unable to recall.
Thanks & Best Regards,

Thanks Thomas. You are
Thanks Thomas. You are probably right.
Bruce might have taken this photo because of the dynamics between the man and the children. Was the man asking the way? Look at the small boy confidently pointing, while the older boys look on seeming less certain. Meanwhile two small boys get on with washing some vegetables(?) and a little girl just looks puzzled by it all. Andrew
Re: Wanchai Market
Hi Andrew,
My speculation is that the man in grey was likely a street hawker, either selling or providing service. The kid maybe communicating with the other kids. This is the fun part. We don't actually know exactly what was going on and may come up with all kinds of wild guess.
Oh, concerning the two photos, if there was one shot between the two, you may be able to see the Wanchai Police Station at the very back.

Yes. All those children will now be in their 60s or 70s. If they saw this image now, would they recognise themselves? I have often wondered whether this is the case with the photographs in my own gallery. Children loved having their photographs taken, whereas adults often did not. Andrew

Hi There,
We have another photo on Lochart Road side of the area. If my memory did not mess up, the shophouse with the Duro advertisement was the neighbour of the the one shown in the other photo.
