Charles and Eileen Medley, Hong Kong 1947

It is believed this photo may have been taken in the Hong Kong Marine Police Headquarters Tsim Sha Tsui. The date on the back is noted October 1, 1947. After being home in Canada from the time of their repatriation from the Stanley Interment Camp (1943), Charles and his wife Eileen returned to Hong Kong in 1947 on The Island Mail.  On a visit made by family to this site in 2012, a gentleman at this location (in what is now a luxury hotel) said the photo appears to be in one of their main rooms. This would make sense as Charles had been a member of the Hong Kong Marine Police. (See hongkongwardiary.com, uniformed civilians.
