The nearest building was a small cook house, where a Chinese cook prepared meals for the personnel on duty. The other one is the very run-down Victorian building that I understand originally housed the Chinese employees who manned the signal station The concrete platform for the mast was a popular viewpoint for Moon Festival celebrants.
