The main sign on the desk appeared to read 鮮海白太.,being written in the traditional way from right to left.

Hi Thomas, I think that Google Translate suggests that this translates as 'Jumbo'.  Is that correct?  Andrew

Hi Andrew,

The timing wasn't right for Jumbo, which should be either the late 1960s or the early 1970's.  I am pretty sure it was the Tai Pak.

Thomas - well done.  I have just checked in my own gallery - the 1957/8 one - and there is a colour slide showing the Tai Pak and it matches the restaurant on Peter's photogaph so 'Tai Pak' it is!  Regards Andrew
