Peter describes the scene, "The Hong Kong Electric Laundry was actually a gang of women who scrubbed on the rocks and paving slabs of a stream trickling down form Mt Parker (sic) into Wanchai." Others have commented on the Hong Kong Electric Laundry having a sign on the hillside close to the Tiger Balm Gardens. A photograph, taken from the Tiger Balm Gardens, which is in Jack Cubitt's gallery shows the laundry drying on the hill side there. Peter's photograh shows a firm's sign on the right hand building, Wing Lee Carpenter Construction. I suspect that this was very close to the Tai Hang village. Do any of the trade directories indicate exactly where the Wing Lee company was in the early to mid 1950s? (Andrew S)
Please see the following photograph where Tngan has identified the location as Wun Sha Street in Tai Hang, Causeway Bay.
