Occasionally one of the Sunderlands came up from Singapore, partly to provide 'chairborne' aircrew with their flying hours (see Ken Sly's gallery) and also to take part in exercises. David was lucky enough to get a flight and the pilot no doubt deliberately overflew Little Sai Wan in order to give him and perhaps others a good view of their 'home'. The Cape Collinson and Camp roads stand out in the low vegetation and you might just be able to make out the pre-war buildings below the zig zag concrete path at the bottom left. Piull box 37 stood on the small headland immediately to the right of the firing range's white shelter. (Andrew S)
