That's a good view. Do you know the name of the building facing us in the distance, with a light-coloured sign along the top of the building? I think I've seen it described as a famous restaurant of the time?

It is the red light district of Shek Tong Tsui. The hotel with the light coloured sign is the Luen Shing Hotel at the junction of South Lane and Hill Road. It operated as a hotel-cum-restaurant. See here  Other buildings in the vicinity served a similar purpose.
