Big Wave Bay Wrecked Junk

Big Wave Bay Wrecked Junk

I have often wondered whether this old junk had been swept ashore during a typhoon.  Apart from the hull, there was very little of it left.

The remains of the forked section of 'our' path as it dropped down to therocks and beach are very visible on the right of the junk and bits of the path can be made out higher up the hillside.  In 1987 it was quite a struggle getting down through the vegetation.  In 2020, Google Earth Street view still shows where the forked path was - up behind the right hand end of the BBQ area.

Can anyone confirm that this was the site of many executions carried out between 1941 and 1945?  I have a recollecton that when, in the early 1970s, excavations were beig carried out for the BBQ foundations, quite a few skeletons were found there.
