In April 1920 the Dutch coastal defence ships ('Hare Majesteits pantserschepen') HMS Marten Harpertszoon Tromp and HMS Hertog Hendrik called at Nanjing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong as part of a four-month "showing-the-flag" tour.
