Edward Youde memorial
In 2005 there was and may still be a large 6 foot x four foot framed painting of Edward Youde Governor of Hong Kong hanging in a busy corridor in the heart specialist side of the famous and very busy St Georges hospital in Tooting, south London. Unfortunately at that time there was nothing on it to say who it was and none of the staff I had contact with had any idea who was in the painting or why it was there. It was the only painting hanging in this long bare walled corridor. The staff were surprised that I knew who the subject was.
