Hello
I'm a new subscriber and would be grateful for some help. I'm looking for a coroners report from August 1858. The coroner was Mr May and it concerned the accidental death of a member of HM Medical Staff Corps.

Hello Tom,
I'm not sure if the reports are kept anywhere. Maybe try the Public Records Office in HK, or the National Archive in UK.
You might also find more details about the death in the newspapers of that time.

Many thanks David. I have a newspaper report and will pursue the TNA holdings.

You may well be aware of this but there is/was a memorial to the Medical Staff Corps, erected in 1859.It bears seven names of those who died during 1858 in Canton, two died during that year on the Canton River plus later deaths.
