Old Department Stores in Hong Kong
Primary tabs
This started on the thread about the China Emporium. There were comments from tngan, Andrew, and vanessa:
tngan:
Hi there,
I do not have any recollection of roaming through the floors of this department store. I do have fond memory of wandering in the old Wing On main store.
Anyway, shall we make a list of all those local old Department Stores? We had had the Dragon Seed in another thread, but I could name another two:
- Shui Hing 瑞興
- Jim Fair 占飛
I could not recall when did Shui Hing closed its last store in Tsimshatui, but it should be a bit more than 10 years ago. Shui Hing used to have a store in Central/Sheung Wan.
As for Jim Fair, they use to have two stores. One of them was very close to the Central Market, on Des Voeux Road. The other was on Nathan Road & Kamsu Street. The building is still there.
Best Regards,
T
