She is mentioned in R E Jones' diary for 10 July 1942 suggesting she'd been outside the Stanley Camp:
Mrs Ashby brought in some news & she tells us that US planes were over Kowloon on Wed.
I'm not sure if she was just visiting Stanley when she delivered the news, or she'd been outside camp and moved in at this time?

As she's mentioned by two prison officers she was probably the wife of Officer R. J. Ashby.
