I remember there is more than one Canon near the pier. Here's one of them. The one shown in Google Maps is not the same one shown above. Have to go and take a second look next time I go there.

ps This album I just found has quite a few of the canons in the area, at the pier around Kadoorie Beach.
You can find two cannons near Kadoorie Pier at Tsing Bik Street, Tuen Mun. One of the cannon is the photo above. The other one is in front of a house, which belongs to the Kadoorie family, pointing to the sea.

There are five cannon visible in a small area at Tuen Mun all around the periphery of the Kadoorie property, Boulder Lodge. The smaller cannon probably came from sailing junks that were well armed with such cannons at one time to ward off pirates. There are pictures of sailing junks carrying many cannon.

Thanks, my Father was attached to 3rd Commando Brigade encamp in Tai Lam when he took this and others.
