Refer Peter Hall's '150 Years of Cricket in Hong Kong' for a short biography of Dick Hancock. (Page 3 in my copy.)

He was born on the 8th April 1877 and died in 1948.

The Hancock shield is stil played for each year by the HKCC and KCC I believe.
