Daring display for the 1950's - the girls didn't move, but the stage revolved  !

Nice. I didn't know LCK Amusement Park was so racy! I thought it was all cheap fairground rides and fish balls. This looks more like something from Great World in 1930s Shanghai.

LCK being quite close to Sham Shui Po camp was a regular venue and a cheap day out. There were continuous performances of Chinese Opera (audience on hard, steel seats),  a Zoo (lol) - I remember just 2 chained elephants - and quite a decent swimming pool.

Hi there,

Apart from the elephant, I remember they used to have one big cat as well.  Some Leopard of sort.  I remember because one I saw a care taker high above the cage throwing down a chicken into it from a trap door high above, way beyond the reach.

Don't remember much about the rest of the animals.

Lai Wan Road ran along the water's edge in those days.  Before the bus terminal and park, there sat high above water (to connect to road elevation) several storage-shower business, and I used them a few times.  Their used water flowed to the beach below but we never had hesitation to swim and boat there.  The park had two pools.  The larger one, separated deep and shallow sections, was typically crowded on hot days. While under water, my father played walking hippo and us kids would ride on him.  One time we tried their "Special" pool which cost a bit more and the water was cleaner.  I had my first ever hot dog in this park.  This may not be the best beach in HK but it gave me warm memories of our times with parents.
