Beacon Hill Radar sites
I've added a place for the radar stations: http://gwulo.com/node/18055
Also put in some photos I took last month when hiking up there.
Here is the radiation warning sign I was talking about, but it is further down the road
Re: Radar sites
Hi there,
I guess those would be similar to the one at Tai Mo Shan as well as Mount Parker. I wouldn't want to go near any of these high power radio equipments. Don't want to be fried from within.
Best Regards,

radar station lit up at night
i just noticed last night the Beacon Hill station on the left was lit up. This adds to the suspense as your reader claimed it was unmanned. could someone in the know verify whats going on inside?
CAD Radar Site - Beacon Hill
I can confirm that the radar site at Beacon Hill operated by Civil Aviation Department is still in use. With advance of technology it is possible to control the radar head remotely, which is the status quo. Inspection/Maintainance is carried out onsite on routine basis.
Both Radar units lit up
i have also noticed an hour ago the larger unit on the right was also lit up, which means there's now light in both units.
that's a rather strange sight to say the least. i might attempt to take a photo if possible.
Re: Taking a photo
Hi there,
It's a good idea taking a photo of that. However you might need a tripod with a long lens with long exposture.
Good hunting.
