We (sort of both of us together) caused a bit of a diplomatic incident when we brought to light something that should have not. (It was right what we did as we were police and not political). We were called to SB boss office for a telling off. The size of the telling off is judged by the time you have to wait outside the inner-sanctum. 5 minute wait is a good telling off. After 15 mins there was still no sign of them which meant that we were to be keel hauled. So in for a penny in for a pound. By the time he did turn up he found us inside the office, where to pass the time and for a bit of 'practise while you wait' (another skill we all had), we opened up all the dial-safes and diall security cabinets we could find and had a look inside. The boss came in, went mad, shouted and forgot what we were there for and told us to get out which we did. After this we reached a status-quo, he said nothing and we said nothing. When they realised our capabilities we all became friends and later had some jolly decent adventures together. A bit like things are today I suppose.

Friendly americans.
We were quite friendly with the American Marine Corps at the US Consulate and we gave talks on close quarter combat in enclosed spaces. It was a nice relationship we shared so to spice it up a bit when their Master Gunnery Sergeant (Gunny) made his security rounds in the afternoon we used to get 2 - 3 .38 special rounds ( The ammo they used for their guns whilst on duty) and drop them on the floor somewhere where he was bound to find them. This led to an almighty explosion of him shouting, security call outs, ammo checks and other things which really livened things up for a while. Dont worry the Corps knew who and later got their own back on us in other ways. Sorry lads, Semper Fi. They were lovely lads and to show no ill feelings we were all then invited to their 201st Marine Corps birthday party which was a humongous high class event and lasted 2 days. Mud pie and shoe fly pie were nice and the 6' high eagle ice sculpture in the middle of the table was magnificent. Nice friendly times and a great crew to work with.
