Cricket Pitch
The buildings in this photo, from left to right, are;
1. St John's Cathedral
2. The Former French Mission Building (to the right of 1)
3. Government House (above, to the right and partly covered by 2)
4. Beaconsfield Arcade (below 2)
5. City Hall (large building at the end of the cricket pitch)
6. HSBC HQ Generation 1 (on the far side of 5)
As Beaconsfield Arcade (built in around 1878 - 80, www.gwulo.com/beaconsfield-arcade ) and HSBC HQ Generation 1 ( demolished in 1882, www.gwulo.com/node/6721 ) can both be seen, the photo should date from around 1878 to 1882.
I'll split the difference and
I'll split the difference and set it to 1880 for now. Corrections welcome!
