George James Grover, aged 40
George James Grover, aged 40 in 1946.
It seems his work at the Dairy Farm during the war was as storekeeper and supervisor of meals.
In 1946 he was committed for trial on charges of breaching the Defence Regulations (in effect, collaboration) but the prosecution abandoned the case presumably because it felt the evidence wasn't strong enough.
He's the subject of the story/article 'The Looters' in Emily Hahn's collection 'Hong Kong Holiday', although all these accounts are strongly fictionalised. According to this source, he was of Russian origin but during the war claimed to be stateless.
