I took this photograph on Hollywood Road. The juxtaposition of the coffins and the writer made we wonder whether he specialised in writing wills.

Hi Andrew,
Hi Andrew,
The scribe is stepping on a Rediffusion pothole cover.
On the What's New page, I mistook your title for this picture as "coffee shop and scribe". Was this photo taken in Wanchai?

Hi Breskvar,
Hi Breskvar,
In our holiday diary we noted that it was down Hollywood Road.

coffin shop
Believe it or not the coffin shop is still there. The open gate at the right is the front of St Matthew's Chruch. The rediffusion cover has gone but funnily enough the cross patterned tiles on the front of the coffin shop are still there.

Coffin Shop
Thanks philk. The resources and memories of readers here are impressive.
I believe it. It is one business that never goes out of business.
Re: Coffin Shops
I also took a photo of the coffin shops in 1996. I read there is a connection between the coffin shops and the Tung Wah Charity Organization.
