Is it possible to have online access to the old Hong Kong newspapers prior to 1900? The earliest date that it's possible to search seems to be 1900 on the "Advanced" option - or am I doing something wrong? Help please!

I think I've got the hang of bringing up the newspapers published on a specific day. The above instructions also seem to let you bring up newspapers for a whole month. If I want to, say, find out if there were any references to John Smith in the newspapers between 1894 and 1899, is there a way of doing that? - i.e. looking for a name within a five year period (or more) pre-1900.
