Born 1900 Hackney London and in 1901 living with parents and brother in Hackney

17 April 1919 travelled from Liverpool to Shanghai occupation Chinese Customs

He married in Shanghai between 1926 and 1930

He died in Bromley Kent in 1976

So pleasantly surprised to see reference to a ‘Sid Herrett’ on Gwulo:has to be the same person I worked with in the Foreign Office,Whitehall,London circa 1963-1965(dates plus the strong China connection-lead me to this conclusion)....then in 1966 I left UK for employment in Hong Kong(Police):still here.
