Nice Photo
Next to the HSBC, the Chartered Bank is under construction. That would be a few years later. Perhaps Ewart was in Hong Kong for a second spell of duty.
Cricket ground
It was used during school holidays for sports facilities by ex-pat kids.
Billy Tingle ran many sport classes there.
Hi Mike and Moddsey,
Hi Mike and Moddsey,
Thanks for the information, Mike. Moddsey - I have emailed Ewart asking him for clarification on the date of this photograph. Regards Andrew
Hi Everyone,
Hi Everyone,
I have heard from Ewart. This image is one that he downloaded off the web and it is, as Moddsey commented, later than Ewart's time in Hong Kong. Perhaps, David should delete it? Andrew
Re: Photo
Its ok Andrew. Keep it as is. Its nice to see. No complaints.
Photo worth keeping
Greetings. May I say we keep it. A bare ground can bring back fond memories of other oldtimers who once walked on it. Regards, Peter
Thanks for feedback, Moddsey
Thanks for the feedback, Moddsey and Peter. I've linked the photograph to several pins on the map and also changed the date to 1957, which ties in with other images. I agree, it's all about keeping memories going. Andrew
