Yes Andrew, I think you are correct. On the shoreline in the distance is a building that I think is Victoria Recreation Club in Deep Water Bay. That would make the coastline nearer the camera that between Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay - where the beautiful promenade now runs. Given the height from which the photo was taken, the photographer was probably somewhere on Middle Island.

Thanks GW, I have looked at Google Earth and Iagree that it looks very much like the stretch of coast just before the small headland that separates Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay.  Andrew
