Regarding POW status, in addition to above by annpake, he was captured on 25th December 1941 and liberated on 6th September 1945. He was on the 5th draft to Japan and was imprisoned in Shamshuipo, Kowloon, Hong Kong and later in Osaka and Nagoya, Japan
