Greetings.  In the 1950s, I don't know who invented it,  us teen-ager called him 貓王 (cat king), presumably because of his performing style - physically active, running, walking, dancing, and, like a cat active with his paws.  I was not impressed at first, but later realized he was a great artist with his  wide range of songs from the fast to the slow and tender.  Regards,  Peter

We (Gwulo people) really need to download the knowledge of Uncle Ray. To be honest, I am not a particular fan of the 1950s-70s music so I'm in no position to do this. But if someone who does have an interest in/basic knowledge of the music of that period were able to spend some time with Ray and capture his enormous cache of knowledge of HK music in that era then it would be a huge win for Gwulo.
