This was indeed put in place in 1927.

I was in F Coy 2 Bn SGs & repainted & repaired this during our tour of HK in the early 1970s. I was attached to the 1st Bn IGs at the time. It was in a very poor state before we took on the task.

Any further renovation after that? If not, it's been almost 50 years since the work you'd done.
