I have been looking for a copy of this book off and on for some time as I remember Liz Chater posting a message saying it was being updated by the author. Has this happened I wonder?
I have had no luck so far and would appreciate it if anybody could point me in the right direction. Better still, if anybody is in contact with Mr Hall I would very much like my interest to be passed on to him.
David can tell him how to reach me.
Thanks,
Sean

In The Web
Hi Sean
I'm in touch with Peter, and have given him extensive family history info regarding the Chater/Jordan connection for the new book. I believe he's on schedule for publishing his updated book this year. if you write to me privately, I will pass your email to him. Sadly, he doesn't subscribe to Gwulo and is not likely to but he doesn't mind me forwarding queries to him.
best wishes
liz
Hi Liz
Thanks for your kind offer. Rather than post my email here perhaps David might send it to you, I am quite happy if he will do that.
In the meantime you might like to have a look at www.thehongkonglegacy.com
This tells the story as far as I know it of my great grandfather who arrived in HK around 1860 from Sweden. By all means pass the web address to Mr Hall who may find some use for it as I understand from another posting that he mentions Olson in his list of names.
Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sean
In The Web 2012 edition
Can anyone tell me what specifically is in the new edition? I'm very close to forking out £200 for a copy but there's only the old editions on sale! I don't want to buy an old edition and be missing some important new information relating to my family history. I'm particular interested in the Ahlmann line. My great-great-grandfather was Peter Emil Helga Melbye who I believe married an Ahlmann. Is there anything updated about this family in the new edition or am I safe to buy the old one?
Also, I've been sifting through some old printed email correspondence from my uncle. One of the emails mentions that Peter Hall told a relative of mine that he was descended from the daughter of the son of my great-grandfather. Is it possible to pass my contact information on to Peter Hall so I can ask him some questions about this?
Many thanks and I hope everyone is safe and well.
I consider Mr.Hall would be pleased to receive your question
Hi,
Mr.Hall also in Gwulo, may you can contact him in this line https://gwulo.com/node/40833
I suppose he will be happy when you contact him. In 《In the web》, he said he have wrote to many Melbyes, but didn't receive any reply until Fanny Davis contacted him.
