Chartered Bank under construction.
Hong Kong Harbour
1960 Lorraine J.Ford slide of harbour shows a large ship on buoy nr 1 in the harbour.
Any chance to enlarge it and identify the ship?
Ship in A52 Hong Kong Harbour
The poor definition of the image makes identification difficult. However, the ship’s profile is very similar to that of the Dutch Royal Interocean Line’s M.V. TJISADANE.
Built in 1930 the cargo passenger ship is recorded as being broken up in Japan in May 1962.

Ship in A52
Here's the enlarged version, though still not very clear:
As Moddsey notes, the new Chartered Bank building is shown as still under construction, so though the slide was bought in 1960, the photographer captured this scene a year or two earlier. I've changed the date from 1960 to 1959.

Thanks - the straight bow stem and counter stern of the M.V. TJISADANE are clearly evident.

The Tjisadane also visited Hong Kong in 1937. Here you can find a close-up: https://gwulo.com/atom/36936
