Old Aberdeen Harbour Master's Office Building [c.1874-????]

- The old Harbour Master's Office building located on Old Street, Aberdeen.
- Dec 1874 - first occupied.
- 1880 - comprised the Harbour Office and Quarters with 1 Inspector, I Chinese Interpreter and 8 Boatmen. By 1890 it was occupied by 1 Inspector, 3 European and 1 Chinese Constables, 1 Chinese Interpreter and 8 Boatmen.
This building preceeded the original Aberdeen Police Station, located on the hill immediately behind this building and therefore housed Police staff.
- Feb 1892 - the staff moved to the new Police Station
- Sep 1893 - a portion was used as a Grant-In-Aid Boys School run by the Church Missionary Society.
- 1910 - school closes and building reverts to the Harbour Department.
The old Harbour Master's Office building survived for many years and served partly, both before and after WWII as a small postal kiosk (agency) evolving in to Aberdeen's first Post Office.
- 1934 it also served as the local fire station
The site is now occupied by a rest garden.
