Doulton
I'm currently based on the opposite side of the river to the old Doulton factory. It's still very ornate.
Beautiful building
Beautiful building Phil, great to see the pride and creativity that went into a factory building then and that it's still there now.
Ham Baker & Co. Westminster SW Fire Hydrant manhole cover
It is fascinating to see the Doulton drainage cover and its historic factory building. Speaking about drainage cover, I also found this Fire Hydrant manhole cover inside of Lei Yue Mun Barracks right next to the playground of Block 25. The company did produce a big variety of products including fire hydrants and manhole covers.
Where is it?
Thanks for showing us this excellent drainage cover, where exactly did you find this in the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens? Thanks.
Location
It's on the path running alongside Garden Road, between the War Memorial arch entrance near Government House and a small waterworks building. There's two old H.K.W.W. drain covers a little further up too.
Nice one Freddie.
Thank you
