Hong Kong Jockey Club Mount Davis Youth Hostel is located at 123 Mount Davis Path.

Formerly known as Ma Wui Hall, the hostel was built in 1981 with the Trust’s donation and was opened by the then Club Steward Lamson Kwok, father of Lester C H Kwok.  As demand increased over the years, the Trust funded the Association to expand the hostel’s capacity by constructing an additional wing. Upon completion in 2000, the hostel was renamed as Jockey Club Mt. Davis Youth Hostel (Text copied from David's comment).

The hostel underwent a major renovation to reopen in 2012. Wikipedia states further:

The hostel offers beds in dormitories, as well as two, four and six bed rooms. Self-catering facilities are provided, but no restaurant is available. The hostel provides a free shuttle service to Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan.

Thank you David. I've corrected the entry.

Was the area of the hostel part of the battery or of similar nature?

I'm not sure if there were any buildings on the site of the hostel when the battery was in use up to WW2.

After WW2 when the RAF used the site, it does look as though they had huts on the flat land where the hostel stands today, see https://gwulo.com/raf-mount-davis, https://gwulo.com/node/5736/photos, and especially https://gwulo.com/atom/25248
